Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta has said the organisation’s student wing is planning to field candidates for the JNU Students’ Union polls this year.

“We have been working for the past three years to form a base on campus. Last year, our student wing, Hindu Vidyarthi Sena (HVS), was able to win one seat. This year, we are planning to contest all four central seats,” said Gupta.

He was arrested in January in connection with the vandalism at Pakistan International Airlines office for allegedly planning the attack. He had been arrested last year as well after his complaint about beef being served at the Kerala House canteen was found to be false.
