The Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed a plea filed by N Gopalaswami and other eminent persons challenging the appointment of Shashikant Sharma as the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).
The court also dismissed a similar plea by advocate ML Sharma.
The petitions in the high court had objected to Sharma’s appointment as he had held senior positions in the Defence Ministry during which time ‘questionable’ deals had been conducted.
The high court further said that there was no arbitrariness in the appointment.
