Gurgaon fake currency bust: Man from Sierra Leone held

The accused were carrying brown sugar and hashish too, said police.

Gurgaon Police arrested four people, including a man from Sierra Leone, with fake currency with a face value of Rs 40 lakh on Saturday. The accused were carrying brown sugar and hashish too, said police.

According to police, they received information that someone had snatched a woman’s purse in Sector 51. Police reached the Sector 51 traffic signal and arrested a man who allegedly had drugs with him. On questioning, he directed them to his accomplices in a flat in Sector 56.

Police identified the accused as John Mark, a resident of Sierra Leone; Seema, a resident of Farrukhabad; and Manoj and Uma Shankar, both from Malerkotla. Police found the fake currency, and 55 grams of brown sugar and 250 grams of hashish.
