Gurgaon doctor held for raping patient: Police

The doctor lives with his family in Gurgaon. Officials at the hospital where the doctor works could not be reached for comment.

A 47-year-old doctor, who works at a city hospital in Gurgaon, has been arrested for raping a patient on the pretext of providing her a job, said police.

DCP (southwest) Surendra Kumar told The Indian Express that the accused, identified as Arvind Jindal was arrested Saturday after the woman lodged a complaint against him Friday evening. A case of rape has been registered at Dwarka Sector-23 police station, he added. According to the complainant, Jindal had been treating her for two years. The woman said in her complaint that Jindal had promised her a job at a NGO and asked to meet him in Dwarka on Friday to discuss it. From there, he took her to a flat where he raped her, said police. The doctor lives with his family in Gurgaon. Officials at the hospital where the doctor works could not be reached for comment.
