TWO MEN were arrested by Gurgaon Police for raping a five-year-old girl in Kherki Daula village Thursday evening.
According to police, the incident took place at 5 pm, when the duo came across the girl who was playing outside her house. The girl’s parents, who hail from Madhya Pradesh and work as labourers in Gurgaon, were not at home at the time.
ASI Suman, the Investigating Officer (IO) of the case, said, “The two men stood in front of her and began discussing where they could get chowmein… After reaching a decision regarding this, they asked the girl if she wanted to eat some chowmein. They eventually managed to coax her into going with them. They then took her to a deserted crematorium in Kherki Daula and raped her.”
The girl returned home after the incident and told the landlord about the incident as her parents were still at work.
The landlord then informed her parents, who took the child to a hospital and filed a police complaint.
Police said a case against the two accused has been registered at Kherki Daula police station under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The two accused, identified as Rakesh and Suresh, were arrested Thursday night. They hail from Uttaranchal and were working in Gurgaon — the former as a cook in a hotel and the latter as a labourer.
“The accused are being questioned further,” said ASI Suman.
He added, “The child has been referred to Safdarjung Hospital since she needed an operation. She is stable,” added the ASI.
