A 47-year-old guard was found dead at a construction site in Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram area early on Saturday. While the body has been sent for post-mortem, an FIR against unknown persons has been registered, said police.

According to police, they received information about the incident between 5 and 6 am on Saturday.

“The body was found lying in a pool of blood near one of the gates at the site. There are four guards who are on duty at the site. Around 5 am, they noticed that Ram Bahadur had not whistled or done his rounds. When they reached the gate where Bahadur was on duty, they found his body. He had a severe head injury; it seems he was hit with an iron rod,” said Anil Yadav, CO, Indirapuram.

“He was employed by a private security agency. He used to live with his wife in the area,” said Yadav.
