Grandsons let in robbers at Rani Bagh house: Police

Two persons and a juvenile were apprehended by the Crime Branch in connection with a robbery in Rani Bagh,Northwest Delhi.

Two persons and a juvenile were apprehended by the Crime Branch in connection with a robbery in Rani Bagh,Northwest Delhi.

The two men have been identified as Gurpreet Singh and Saurabh Nangia.

According to police,on May 19,Gurpreet and Saurabh barged into a house and held two women — a mother-daughter duo — at gunpoint. The men tied the women and fled with Rs 9 lakh and gold jewellery from the house. Police said the grandsons were involved. They left the door of the house open to let in Gurpreet and Saurabh,police said.

A trap was laid at Outer Ring Road in Tilak Nagar,where the two men and one of the grandsons were apprehended. S K Jain,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime),said,“The two boys had told the two accused about their grandmother getting a lot of money from a property deal. After the robbery,they bought gold jewellery and new clothes.”
