In another significant bureaucratic reshuffle within the Delhi administration, transfer of five IAS officers has been decided by the Chief Minister’s office, though the file has been recalled by Lt-Governor Najeeb Jung. Sources said the new orders place J B Singh — a 2000-batch IAS officer of the AGMU cadre — as the new excise commissioner of Delhi. He will replace A K Singh — a 1996 batch IAS officer of UT cadre — who is scheduled to retire on January 31.

Lalmalsawma — 1983 batch IAS officer — is tipped to be secretary, General Administration department and Vigilance. A B Shukla, the secretary (GAD), is likely to be appointed member of the Delhi State Subordinate Services Board.
