Four arrested for strangling elderly woman in Gurgaon

Gurgaon police on Sunday arrested four persons for their allegedly involvement in strangulating an elderly woman to death in DLF Phase-II last week.

Gurgaon police on Sunday arrested four persons for their allegedly involvement in strangulating an elderly woman to death in DLF Phase-II last week.

The four arrested include the woman’s domestic help Deepa,their driver Shudho Dev,a contractor Kishan and one Chander Prakash. According to police,the woman Jasveer Kaur and her husband had hired Deepa a week before the incident.

Police said Deepa had referred men for whitewashing the couple’s house,who had been accused of strangling Jasveer.

During questioning,the couple’s driver Shudho Dev revealed that he and his friends Kuldeep and Kisan had hatched a plan to rob the house.

Deepa,who had been hired on Dev’s reference,had surveyed the house and knew where the couple kept their valuables.

She then convinced the elderly couple to hire her friend Kishan for the whitewashing,a senior police officer said.

Police said on June 8 the three men whitewashing the couple’s house left around 9 pm.

They returned sometime later,dragged Jasveer to the bathroom and strangled her.

Her husband was beaten up and taken to another room.

The accused then stole a diamond necklace,a gold locket,a watch,a gold chain from the house,police said.
