“The family was supposed to fly out from Imphal Sunday but they just couldn’t… This is why we are here to take Sidharth’s body back home,” said P Vaiphei, principal secretary, Government of Manipur. At the behest of former education minister of Manipur M Okendru, an old friend of Vaiphei’s, a few family friends were in Delhi Sunday morning to take care of all formalities.
“His father told me last night that Sidharth called him at 1.30 pm and told them he was very hungry and was going to grab a bite… after a long day of doing paperwork to shift from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce to Sri Venkateswara,” said Vaiphei.
Sidharth stayed in SDA with his elder sister. “He was going to study political science and then prepare for the UPSC exam… he was a very bright student,” Vaiphei said, going through photos of Sidharth and his children years ago.
