A 25-year-old student of Delhi University has alleged that a man made a video clip of hers using a cellphone when she was using the washroom at the Department of Chemistry in Delhi University on Thursday afternoon.

The woman in her complaint to police said she suspected a classmate for the act. Police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the accused.

According to police, the incident took place around 12 pm Thursday. The woman,a final-year MSc student at the Department of Chemistry, had gone to the washroom, used by both men and women.

In her complaint, the woman said,“I was in the washroom when I saw a mobile phone at the window. I only managed to see a hand and a cellphone which was placed at the window of another cubicle.”

Police said the woman immediately raised the alarm, following which students gathered there. But by then, the man escaped through the window in his cubicle. Police ascertained this as the cubicle from where the man was allegedly filming the woman was locked from inside.

Police have registered a case under Section 354C of the IPC (watching or capturing an image of a woman engaged in a private act) at the Maurice Nagar police station. Further investigation is on.
