Drug addicts held for killing civic employee

The body of Manjeet, a grade IV NDMC employee, was found two days after the incident on December 14.

The Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested three persons for allegedly murdering a 25-year-old man over sharing a smack syringe.

The accused Nasim (20), Mohammad Samir (19) and Sanjay (19) were arrested on Friday. Police said the accused allegedly smashed the head of 25-year-old Manjeet with bricks and slit his throat. The incident was reported from Shahbad Dairy on December 12.

The body of Manjeet, a grade IV NDMC employee, was found two days after the incident on December 14.

“The accused were apprehended from the bus stand at JJ Colony, Bawana, around 4.30 pm. They had gone there to purchase smack. All four were smack addicts,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravinder Yadav said.

Police said during questioning, the accused confessed. “They said on December 12, they had a fight with Manjeet over sharing of a smack injection. Angry, they killed him,” an officer said.
