Driver shot at in Narela for not giving way

Delhi roads witnessed yet another incident of road rage on Monday after an SUV driver allegedly opened fire at the driver of an Hyundai i10 car,which was ahead of him.

Delhi roads witnessed yet another incident of road rage on Monday after an SUV driver allegedly opened fire at the driver of an Hyundai i10 car,which was ahead of him. Police said,the driver of the i10 car was shot at for not the allowing the SUV to overtake. The incident was reported from Outer Delhi’s Narela area around 9.30 pm on Sunday. The driver of the i10 car,Vijender Khatri,ducked inside just in time and escaped,police said.

Khatri told police that the road was narrow,and,hence,two vehicles could not pass at the same time. The driver in the Scorpio started to honk. He then got down and started firing.

The accused fired four to five rounds and one of the bullets went past the victim’s ear. Passersby who saw the shooting,informed the police.

There were around four persons in the Scorpio and police are trying to trace them. “A case of attempt to murder has been registered against unknown persons,” a police officer said.
