Digging clay for Janmashtami, two teens buried alive

According to police, a group of teenagers were digging clay to make statues for Janmashtami.

Two teenagers who were digging for clay were buried alive when the upper portion of the ditch caved in. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon in East Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar area, police said.

According to police, a group of teenagers were digging clay to make statues for Janmashtami. The two dead were identified as Vineet (16) and Ashok (15). Police said that at the time of the incident, the two were at the bottom of the pit. Police said six boys were buried, but four were rescued. Police said Vineet and Ashok were unconscious when they were taken to LBS hospital.

Police said they were trying to ascertain the identity of the person who had asked the boys to dig for clay.
