A 38-year-old Delhi Police head constable allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver at his residence in northeast Delhi’s Brahmpuri area early Sunday morning.
The head constable, identified as Gyanendra Rathi, was posted with the Delhi Police Special Cell for the last four years.

Police said they received a PCR call at 1.04 am, stating that Rathi had committed suicide. Police said he was with his wife at their residence when the incident took place.
“The head constable entered into an argument over food and threatened his wife he would commit suicide. He was drunk when he came home late night Saturday. He later shot himself,” DCP, Northeast, A K Singla said.
