Delhi: DU girl chases down two snatchers

Delhi: The duo followed her on a two-wheeler from Anand Vihar and snatched her bag, said police.

A Delhi University student gave chase and caught two snatchers as they tried to flee with her bag Saturday, said police. The snatching happened in east Delhi’s Anand Vihar area around 7 am, Nikita (18), a first-year student, was on her way to Karkardooma Metro Station on her two-wheeler, police added.

The duo followed her on a two-wheeler from Anand Vihar and snatched her bag, said police. She lost her balance and fell, but got up and gave chase even as she kept screaming for help. After a chase of about a km, the snatchers hit a car and fell on the road, said police.

The girl too hit the car and sustained injuries, but people in the vicinity caught the snatchers, police added. Police said the accused were residents of Durgapuri area.
