Colonel Ajay Ahlawat, on the run in connection with an alleged human trafficking racket in south Delhi’s Safdarjung Enclave since July, surrendered at a city court on Thursday, after which he was sent to three-day police custody, police said.

Ahlawat is said to be a close associate of Pritindra Nath Sanyal, who was arrested from his residence in July for alleged human trafficking and running an impersonation racket in south Delhi. His arrest came after the Income Tax department conducted a raid at Sanyal’s Safdarjung Enclave residence in June and found a Russian woman with injuries on her hand.
