Delhi chief secretary K K Sharma has been appointed secretary of the department of higher education, Union HRD Ministry.
He is among the officers transferred and posted by the appointments committee of the Cabinet. Sharma is likely to remain chief secretary for the next couple of months.
The process of appointment of the new chief secretary will begin soon.
Sources said the AAP government is keen to retain Sharma despite being at loggerheads at one point of time. Sharma, a 1983 AGMUT cadre IAS officer, left the post of Goa’s chief secretary before becoming Delhi’s chief secretary.
