A 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death by a minor outside a government school in east Delhi’s Mandawali area on Friday, police said. Both boys studied in the same school. According to police, the accused, who is also 16 years old, was carrying the murder weapon, a knife, in his school bag, and killed the victim at 6 pm — after school got over. According to police, the victim stayed near the school and studied in Class X, while the accused is a resident of Preet Vihar.

“The accused was involved in a scuffle with two of the victim’s friends, and the victim tried to intervene. The accused took out his knife and slashed the victim’s neck. He started bleeding profusely and was rushed to the hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning,” a senior police officer said.
Two of the victim’s friends were injured in the incident, but they have been discharged after treatment.
The victim’s family alleged that the murder was premeditated.
His mother claimed that her son got a call at 4 pm on Friday, after which he left. She further alleged, “No one initially came forward for help my
son when he was stabbed.”
Police have apprehended the accused and further investigations are underway.
