Police found lapses on the part of Divyansh’s school in initial probe and decided to issue notices to 15 people, including the principal, to join the probe, sources said Sunday.

Divyansh was last seen before the seventh period at about 12.20 pm. He was spotted in the pit at about 1.30 pm. On Sunday, a Central Forensic Science Laboratory team of CBI gathered evidence from the spot after recreating the incident. Investigators questioned employees and also seized CCTV footage.

Sources said initial investigation revealed lack of proper arrangements around the water tank under the school’s amphitheatre. “It also came to fore that the school authorities had not put up a gate around the amphitheatre and anyone could enter it,” added the sources.

Investigators found there was no school staff near the water tank at the time of the incident, said the sources. To reach the water tank from his classroom, Divyansh would have had to cover nearly 70 metres, added the sources. Investigators are trying to ascertain why the school did not inform the police about the incident, sources said.
