DDA takes possession of property in Jhandewalan

Senior DDA officials, in the presence of Delhi Police, took possession of the building in Jhandewalan, said a statement from the Lieutenant Governor’s office.

Two months after the Supreme Court authorised the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to clear property worth Rs 500 crore, of “illegal occupants”, in Jhandewalan, the agency finally did so Friday afternoon.

Senior DDA officials, in the presence of Delhi Police, took possession of the building
in Jhandewalan, said a statement from the Lieutenant Governor’s office. The property has a built-up area of 1,20,000 sqft. “One of the directors of the company that had occupied the property formally handed over possession of the entire premises to the team,” it added.
