Three people on a motorcycle allegedly tried to rob a Congolese national while he was travelling in an autorickshaw in south Delhi’s Sunlight Colony Wednesday, said police sources.

Bobo Neil was on his way home after meeting a friend in East of Kailash at 2 am when his autorickshaw was allegedly chased by three men on a motorcycle, who stopped him near the Ashram flyover.

In his complaint to police, Neil said the three men threatened him at knife point. They allegedly asked him to hand over his valuables and tried to snatch his ring and mobile phone. When he resisted, Neil said he was beaten up by the trio. Sources said Neil managed to escape after the attackers fled, when they spotted two cars coming in their direction.

The auto-rickshaw driver also fled the spot along with his vehicle, said a police official. Neil told police he was so shocked after the attack that he could not note down the autorickshaw’s registration number.
