A student of Class XI was stabbed on the premises of Government Boys Senior Secondary School by his senior after an argument over the victim’s brother.

The Class XII student was detained and sent to a juvenile home, police said.

School authorities said the senior called the boy to meet him after school to discuss a project on Friday. They got into an argument after the senior allegedly abused the boy’s brother. The senior then stabbed the boy in the thigh and abdomen with a pocket knife, police said.

“Other students informed the principal of the school, who then made a PCR call. The senior boy was restrained by other students and the injured student was taken to a hospital,” police said.

The principal of the school said the two students had been issued warnings earlier for fighting. Before the older student attacked his junior, the two had an argument during school hours. Their friends controlled the situation and the matter ended there, the principal said.

“The two have been involved in many fights. We are questioning other students in this regard,” a police officer said.

The injured boy was discharged from the hospital on Saturday.

No case has been registered against the school authorities.
