The e-governance partner of the three municipal corporations in Delhi has stopped “further support services for the project” for non-payment of dues for three years to the tune of Rs 80 crore.

Tech Mahindra, which has been engaged with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for development and support of ‘Digitisation of Citizen Services’ since March 2010,issued a statement to this effect on Wednesday. The company alleged that the municipal corporations were put on notice “more than two months ago” but no response has been received yet.

“The lack of response and indecision is disturbing and, consequently,we have been constrained to stop further support services for this project,” a company statement said.

A company spokesperson said the system has been in use for three years. “The total outstanding on account of ‘support services’ provided over the last three years totals to Rs 30 crore and the total amount, including hardware,custom-made software and support services amounts to nearly Rs 80 crore,” the official said.

The withdrawal of technical support by the Hyderabad-based company is likely to hit the citizens as online services will be affected.
