Chartered accountant killed in road mishap

A 24-year-old chartered accountant was crushed to death by a Haryana Roadways bus in Badarpur,Southeast Delhi,on Sunday,police said. The accident took place around 12.30 pm when Saksham,son of the registrar of Manav Rachna University in Faridabad,was riding his motorcycle on Mathura road. According to an eyewitnesses,Saksham fell off the motorbike after being hit by the bus and was crushed under its rear wheels. Following the accident,the driver fled leaving the bus on the spot,a police officer said. Police have registered a case against the driver and the bus has been seized.

1400 kg of illegal crackers seized from 2 toyshops,owners <\b>

About 1,400 kg of illegal firecrackers were seized from two shops in Central Delhi’s Sadar market on Sunday. Police said the owners had been arrested. Acting on a tip off,Crime Branch officials on Saturday raided two shops at Gandhi Market in Sadar Bazar and arrested their owners — Rahul Luthra (31) and Sanjeev Kumar (45) — for being involved in illegal trade of fire crackers,a senior police officer said. The shop owners failed to produce valid license for the crackers,police said.
