CA student tells parents of suicide bid,they look on as train crushes him

A 21-year-old chartered accountancy student died after he came in front of a train in Kavinagar area of Ghaziabad early Thursday.

A 21-year-old chartered accountancy student died after he came in front of a train in Kavinagar area of Ghaziabad early Thursday,even as his parents watched from nearby.

Police said the youth,Rahul,took his life after being scolded by his father for performing poorly in his CA examinations.

“The boy’s father had scolded him for performed badly in his semester exams. He got upset and left the house,” a police officer said.

Police said after Rahul left home,his parents got worried and called him on his cellphone. Rahul allegedly told his parents that he was going to kill himself.

“Rahul allegedly told his parents that if they wished to stop him,they would have to find him first. He told his parents that he was going to jump in front of a train,” the officer said.

His parents then rushed to the Ghaziabad railway station and managed to spot Rahul on the tracks,police said. But before they could pull him off,he came under a train,police said.

“We have sent the body for a post-mortem examination and investigation is underway,” S S Yadav,SP City (Ghaziabad) said.
