The office of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) at Mehrauli was burgled last week. The incident came to light on January 9 at the divisional MCD office in Mehrauli near Qutub Minar when one of the office boys found the room ransacked in the morning.
A senior MCD official in his statement to the police,said the burglars had fled with two biometric machines,three ceiling fans,water pump,table watches,suction pumps,35 spades and water taps. Apart from these,the official papers,which were kept in the three lockers were also stolen. Following the incident,the MCD officials have now hired a security guard who will be posted outside during night hours.
MCD officials also told the police that some of the documents which were stolen were regarding some projects in the area.
The police have registered a case. We are questioning some suspects. It appears to be handiwork of miscreants. The burglars have stolen even utensils,taps and attendance registers. it is possible that drug addicts in the area committed the burglary. The investigation is on, said a police office.
