Lokayukta Justice Manmohan Sarin on Thursday asked Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) state president Brahm Singh and his brother Bir Singh, deputy mayor of the South corporation,to regularise construction at their flat in Sarita Vihar. The flat is being used as a BSP office.

The order, dated July 26,says,“Brahm Singh undertook in his statement to maintain status quo till regularisation application was decided and not to make any alteration.”

In the event of regularisation application not being allowed within a period of three months,he would demolish the construction on ground floor, the order said.

An illegal wall in the flat was demolished earlier, the order said. Lokayukta has asked municipal authorities to “ensure regularisation is confined to the flat and no part of construction at the courtyard encroaches on public land.”

Sarin also directed the South corporation to “remove illegal construction” in the event of regularisation not being sanctioned within the next three months.

BSP state president Brahm Singh said,“I have submitted an application to the MCD commissioner and we hope that the construction will be regularised soon.”
