Police on Wednesday arrested four men, including a minor, for the alleged murder of a BPO employee. The man was killed while resisting a robbery attempt, police said. The arrested men,Ved Prakash,Dinesh,Raju and the minor, were arrested for the alleged murder of Rohit, whose body was found dumped near the Akshardham Metro station last week.
Rohit, who worked in Nehru Place in South Delhi, left from office around 10.30 pm on March 27,and took an auto to his rented accommodation in Mayur Vihar. Following investigations, police concluded that he could have been dumped after a robbery incident, and they stumbled upon a similar modus-operandi reported last month.
The four accused took Rohit near Nizamuddin Bridge in their auto, where one of them tried to steal his mobile phone. When Rohit protested, another accused stabbed him to death. Later, his body was dumped near Akshardham flyover and the accused decamped with his belongings. All the four accused used to drive autos at night without valid licenses, said Prabhakar,Deputy Commissioner of Police,East District.
