A 20-year-old boy allegedly planned his own abduction to attend a party thrown by a friend.

Gaurav Singh, son of Prem Singh,a resident of Noida,Sector 22,had been invited to a friend’s party. Tempted to attend it but afraid of being refused permission by his family,he called up his father after attending his tuition classes in Indirapuram and told him that he has been abducted by a few men, said a police officer.

Gaurav said he would be let off in three to four hours. Meanwhile, his father notified the police.

The boy, after attending the party in Nitikhand, called up and told his father that he had been released by the kidnappers and was standing near a bridge in Indirapuram. “The police located Gaurav’s whereabouts in Nitikhand,” said the police officer.

His father then told him to wait there. By then, the boy had started on his way to Noida,so he turned back to reach Indirapuram.

His bike, however, slipped near Sector 12,Block-C,Indirapuram. Locality residents rushed him to Fortis Hospital, and the boy’s father and the police were informed. The police are yet to register a case against the boy.
