The body of a former officer of the Indian Air Force was found in Swaroop Nagar,Northwest Delhi,on Sunday morning. Police said the throat of Surender Kumar Singh (48) had been slit and his mobile phone and wallet were missing. Police,however,found Singhs gold chain on him and are probing all angles.
The incident was reported around 9.30 am when a passer-by saw Singh lying in a pool of blood on a pavement on NH-1.
Singh lived in Sector-10,Gurgaon,with his wife and two sons,aged 20 and 22.
According to police,Singh retired from the Air Force a few years ago after completing his short service commission and after that was working as a manager with a private company in Himachal Pradesh.
Singh had left Himachal on January 14 . He drove to Ambala,parked his car at the bus depot and boarded a bus to Delhi, said Romil Baaniya,Additional DCP (Northwest).
Police said the location of the last call made from Singhs cellphone was Swaroop Nagar at 10.40 pm on Saturday. He had called his family.
His body was identified by his brother,an S-I with Delhi Police.
