BJP member claims he was abducted over RTI query

After the vice-president of the BJP Dankaur unit alleged that he was abducted and tortured by unidentified assailants,police said they are probing the matter.

No arrest has been made yet,and police are also checking the veracity of BJP member Anoop Singh’s claims.

According to Singh,he was abducted after he filed an RTI query about development work in Sikka,which led to a panel being formed to investigate the query.

Singh alleged that on December 13,he was on his way from Sikka village to Dankaur,Gautam Budh Nagar district,when an SUV had rammed his bike. He alleged that he was abducted,held captive and assaulted for four days. He alleged that he was beaten with rods and burnt with cigarettes.

Police said Singh has not been able to give details. “He alleged that he was abducted and tortured,but hasn’t given us a single clue. He hasn’t even given us the RTI query that he claims to have filed,” Brijesh Kumar Singh,SP (rural),said.
