Battered baby’s father sent to judicial custody

Mohammad Shah Hussain,father of the two-year-old girl who died at AIIMS Trauma Centre after she was allegedly assaulted by a teenage girl,was sent to judicial custody by a Delhi court on Friday,for his alleged involvement in a gangrape case in Muzaffarpur,Bihar.

Mohammad Shah Hussain,father of the two-year-old girl who died at AIIMS Trauma Centre after she was allegedly assaulted by a teenage girl,was sent to judicial custody by a Delhi court on Friday,for his alleged involvement in a gangrape case in Muzaffarpur,Bihar.

He was arrested from Gurgaon by the Vasant Kunj Police on Thursday,after he was declared a proclaimed offender for his alleged involvement in the gangrape case.

The Saket Court directed jail authorities to keep Hussain in Tihar Jail till June 27 as his statement has been sought by the Child Welfare Committee in the case of assaulted baby. He is to be produced before the CWC on June 27.

The two-year-old infant was admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre with severe bruises,head injuries and fractures on January 18. Her head was badly smashed and she had bite marks all over her body,doctors had said. She died on March 16.

The CWC had passed an order asking the police to trace Hussain,who had failed to appear before it to take his wife and children home.
