Investigation into the shooting at Badarpur has revealed that two of the suspects, Deepak and Vishal, rented their accommodation by submitting forged documents to the landlord.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Mandeep Singh Randhawa said they have booked the landlord, R K Tripathi, for not verifying the background of the men. “Instead of conducting tenant verification, he took all the documents and kept it with himself,” he said.

But on making inquires, police found the addresses were fake and the documents forged. Both documents were issued on the same date,” said the sources.
