NEW DELHI: Three persons,including two wanted in the Sonepat jail break case in January this year,were arrested on Monday. Police also recovered three pistols,eight live cartridges and one motorcycle from their possession. The men have been identified as Sonu (25),Jitender (22) and their associate Shiv Kumar (21).
New policy on land acquisition
New Delhi: The Delhi government on Monday decided to offer flats on preferential basis to people in urban areas whose land is acquired for infrastructure projects. The government will pay land owners monetary compensation as per the prevailing market rates. It will offer DDA flats for which land owners will have to pay full cost. If the acquired land is between 100 and 200 sqm,the land owner would be offered a low income group flat. For plots of about 200-300 sqm,a middle income group flat would be offered. For those above 300 sqm,a high income group flat would be offered.
Kakad murder: Inspector Shinde may be sacked
Mumbai: Police inspector Sanjay Shinde,a close relative of Vijay Palande the main accused in the Arun Tikku and Karan Kakad murder cases is likely to be dismissed from police service under Article 311 of the Constitution,Mumbai Police sources said on Monday. There is a high likelihood of Shinde being dismissed from service for misconduct and interfering in police investigations, said a senior Mumbai Police Crime Branch officer. Sources said a decision would be taken on whether to book Shinde for aiding Palande during the latters escape from police custody on April 10.
