Three more Holy Family hospitals to come up in Haryana

NEW DELHI: Emphasising the need to ensure that health facilities reached every citizen,Vice-President Hamid Ansari said the health sector in the country had “a very long way to go” before it could meet the growing demand. He was speaking at the diamond jubilee celebrations of the hospital on Thursday. Director of the hospital Fr George P A said three hospitals with 100 beds each would be set up in Haryana and a medical college would be started to mark the diamond jubilee of the hospital.

Uphaar cinema fire: HC rejects plea of former IPS officer

New Delhi: Three years after former IPS officer Amod Kanth challenged a summon to face trial in the Uphaar cinema fire case,the Delhi High Court has set aside his plea and directed him to raise his objections before the trial court. Justice P K Bhasin said the issue of sanction could be raised “before the trial court… instead of asking this court first to decide on the objection in the petition…”.
