A 24-year-old student of a Noida college was shot at in an alleged attempted theft at Shanti Van on Saturday,police said.

A 24-year-old student of a Noida college was shot at in an alleged attempted theft at Shanti Van on Saturday,police said. The youth,identified as Navneet,is a resident of Mandawali. Police said Navneet was shot at while he was on his bike. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he is said to be critical.

Man missing after falling into Yamuna

A 30-year-old security guard reportedly fell into the Yamuna river on Saturday. Police said the man,identified as Munna,and his friend Ganshyam had gone to the ITO bridge and allegedly consumed alcohol. He is yet to be found.

Class XII student kills self

Allegedly depressed over his performance in his Board exam,a Class XII student at a government school committed suicide on Friday. Police said no suicide note was found.

Man jumps before Metro,dies

A 50-year-old man jumped on the Metro track at Uttam Nagar (East) station on Saturday. He died on the spot. “Emergency brake was applied but that did not help. It appears to be a case of suicide,” said a DMRC spokesperson.

‘Extortion gang’ held,arms seized

Four members of an alleged extortion group,who opened fire in a property dealer’s office in Rohini Sector 11 on February 28,were booked and their fire arms were seized in two separate operations on Thursday and Friday,police said.
