Metro staffer ends life at quarters

New Delhi: A 26-year-old employee of the Delhi Metro allegedly committed suicide on Thursday by hanging himself at the staff quarters near Mundka Metro station. No suicide note was recovered. Sunil was found hanging from the ceiling by his father,who alerted the police. Sunil lived in Dwarka Sector-I and worked as a supervisor with DMRC.

Driver run over by TSR vehicle in Geeta Colony

New Delhi: The 42-year-old driver of a Metro feeder bus was run over by a TSR vehicle near Rani Garden area in Geeta Colony,East Delhi. Though the TSR driver is absconding,his vehicle has been seized. “Dhani Lal was walking on the service lane when the TSR hit him from behind. He fell on the ground. Passersby and police rushed him to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital,where doctors declared him dead,” a police officer said.

Two arrested for cheating jobseekers

NEW DELHI: Two persons have been arrested for cheating unemployed youths by promising them well-paying jobs in multinational companies. Police said Lalit Kumar (59) and Amarjeet Rana (60) allegedly cheated the victims of more than Rs 10 lakh since 2010,charging around Rs 50,000 per job. “The accused were arrested from Karol Bagh Metro station,when they came there to strike a deal with other youths.
