Remuneration for language teachers in govt schools doubled

NEW DELHI:The Delhi cabinet on Monday decided to hike the monthly remuneration of teachers in government-run language academies to mitigate problems of teachers re-employed by the government after superannuation. The hike will double the remuneration of 282 teachers.

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said,“These teachers are being re-employed automatically for two years after their superannuation from government service and they cannot be treated as if on contract basis. We hope this decision will ease their problems.”

The remuneration for a post graduate teacher has been fixed at Rs 23,265,up from Rs 13,160,and for trained graduate teachers at Rs 22,935,up Rs 11,140,with immediate effect.
