Arms gang busted, kingpin held

The Delhi Police have busted an inter-state arms gang and arrested two of its key members. They have also recovered 43 “sophisticated pistols”, along with with 38 magazines, from their possession. “The syndicate used to supply pistols to several areas in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh from three tribal villages in Burhanpur district of MP,” a senior police officer said.

DCP (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said Hari Singh (27), a resident of Burhanpur in MP, was the main supplier of the gang. On December 15, police received information that he would be near the bus stop.

“Following the tip-off, a team was sent. He, along with his associate Yogender Singh Rajput (37), were arrested and 20 pistols were seized,” the DCP said. Singh told police he used to sell pistols to small illegal weapon suppliers and various persons of criminal backgrounds.
