The Ghaziabad sessions court on Saturday rejected the Talwars’ plea seeking time to file a petition challenging its order to allow seven of 13 defence witnesses to depose. The Talwars had sought 10 days to prepare the petition, which was to be filed before the Allahabad High Court.

Dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar are standing trial for the murder of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj on May 15-16,2008.

The court observed that the application filed by the defence was mainly to delay the trial and ordered that cross-examination of witnesses will continue on Monday.

Talwars’ counsel Manoj Sisodia said,“The application seeking 10 days’ time to challenge the June 18 order was dismissed by the court on Saturday.”
