Most exit polls may have predicted a resounding victory for the AAP, but there are prominent faces in the party who could be in for a difficult battle in their seats.

Rakhi Birla (Mongolpuri): Birla initially was one of the most prominent faces in the AAP government but has since faced problems. She was defeated by Udit Raj in the Lok Sabha elections and some of the sheen of her being the Dalit face of the party has worn off.

Commando Surender Singh (Delhi Cantonment): Singh beat BJP heavyweight Karan Singh Tanwar by a narrow margin in 2013 and again faces a difficult battle. The BJP won five seats in the Cantonment elections in what could be an indicator of the stern test ahead.

Gopal Rai (Babarpur): This is an important election for Rai, who lost the 2013 election despite being a core member of the party. Rai has to make up a margin of close to 14,000 votes in a seat where he finished third, with Naresh Gaur of the BJP a strong contender.

Jarnail Singh (Rajouri Garden): Singh, infamous for once throwing a shoe at P Chidambaram, is up against SAD’s Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Both are targeting the Sikh vote in the area and this battle could prove very close.
