Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into cases pertaining to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and sought an investigation into allegations made by Abhishek Verma, an accused in the Navy war leaks case, against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler.

In his letter, Kejriwal wrote, “Recently, information has surfaced that Jagdish Tytler has committed further offence of influencing witnesses and using hawala transactions for influencing witnesses. These revelations have been made by Shri Abhishek Verma in his statement to the CBI.”

He added, “I would also like to bring to your kind notice that this issue was also raised in the Delhi assembly and an unanimous resolution was passed to take up the cases of 1984 anti-Sikh riots. In view of this, I would request you to again examine the issues related to Jagdish Tytler and to investigate the above mentioned two offices which relate to his involvement in the anti-Sikh riots.”

When contacted, Tytler said, “These allegations are entirely fictitious and untrue. There is absolutely no truth to any allegation that Abhishek Verma is making.”
