Delhi’s family courts held a painting exhibition at the Delhi High Court complex on Thursday, with the main theme as ‘protection of the institution of family’.

In the 125 paintings, selected from a competition held last month, the artists depicted different aspects of family and relationships.

More than 800 children from various schools had participated in the competition that was organised by the family courts in Saket,Dwarka and Rohini.

Inaugurating the event,Supreme Court judge Justice T S Thakur, also released the family court calendar-2012. He said role of the younger generation in preserving family values was crucial.

Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Justice A K Sikri said the three family courts, established three years ago, have played a greater role in re-uniting several families rather than merely addressing matrimonial disputes.
