The Capital witnessed another chilly day, with the mercury dipping to 5.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Though the minimum temperature was higher than Friday’s 4 degrees Celsius, the cold wave persisted.

Thick fog made the chill worse, reducing visibility to 200 metres even during the day.

The maximum temperature also dipped to a new low of 15 degrees Celsius,7 degrees Celsius below normal.

Cold wave conditions are likely to continue for the next few days due to snowfall in the northern states.

Last year,on the same day,the minimum temperature was recorded at 2 degree Celsius while the maximum was 20 degree Celsius.

The Met officials said tomorrow the maximum temperature will hover around 20 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature will go up to 8 degree Celsius.
