Reacting to Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh’s statements regarding appointment of teachers,Delhi University Teachers’ Association on Monday urged ad-hoc teachers to refrain from “believing anything that the V-C may be telling the media about the issue of appointments”. A DUTA member said,“The V-C is playing with the hopes of thousands of young teachers by talking about fresh appointments.” Since students will choose papers under the four-year undergraduate programme ,DUTA said it will become difficult for the departments to measure work-load accurately. “As appointments depend on post-creation on the basis of workload, permanent posts are likely to fall if the four-year undergraduate model is passed,” a DUTA hand-out said.
