A 26-year-old man was found dead in the swimming pool of a private school in Noida on Tuesday morning.
Police said the victim,Shivesh Bose, was employed as a project manager with an electronics company. His body was fished out from the swimming pool of a school in Sector 34. Police said the pool was only three-foot deep.
Police said Bose used to frequent the pool every day from 6 am to 7 am for the past four years.
As usual,he went for a swim in the morning. At its maximum, the pool is six-foot deep. He was spotted drowning and was pulled out and rushed to Shivalik Hospital. He was then referred to the District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival at 7.40 am, a senior officer said.
Shiveshs father, retired Colonel Siddhartha Bose, said, My son has been swimming for the past 22 years, and was good at it. There is no way he could drown in a pool which has a maximum depth of six feet.
Police said they were yet to receive a complaint in the matter. Though there is no official complaint so far,we are looking into the matter. There was no water in his lungs, which occurs when a person drowns. We have preserved the viscera and will seek a toxicology report. We will also look at his medical history to see if there is anything which could have caused his death, a senior officer said.
The management of the school said they had outsourced the management of the pool to sports management company, which allowed private individuals to use it.
Bose was one of the visitors to the pool. The school has little to do with the incident, a school official said.
