The Delhi Police Thursday arrested two people in connection with the alleged abduction and rape of a 16-year-old girl from West Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area.
The girl was allegedly abducted from Mohan Garden area in Uttam Nagar.
One of the suspects, who pretended to be an affluent property dealer from Noida, had befriended the girl earlier, said sources in the police. The accused asked her to meet him at Mohan Garden area on November 22.
When the girl reached the spot, the accused, who was waiting for her along with his friend, dragged her inside their car, said sources in the police.
They took her to Greater Noida and assaulted her on the way, said sources. The two suspects allegedly locked her up in a rented room in Tugal village near Pari Chowk in Greater Noida and repeatedly assaulted her over 13 days, said a police official. They then tried to kill her by shooting her twice.
“They took her to a field, shot her in the chest and threw the unconscious girl inside a well,” said a police official. When the girl regained consciousness, she raised an alarm and was subsequently rescued by locals.
The father of the girl has now pledged his own house to pay the medical bills for his daughter’s treatment.
He said that on Sunday morning, he had received a call from Greater Noida Police, who informed him that his daughter had been shot and she had been admitted to a private hospital.
“We rushed there immediately. Doctors told us that she had been shot twice. In the evening, we transferred her to a hospital in Delhi and paid Rs 70,000 to the hospital authorities. I have pledged my own house in my native place to pay her bills,” said the girl’s father.
