17-yr-old who led escape from juvenile home held: Police

Four days after 33 juveniles vandalised an observation home in Mukherjee Nagar,police have arrested the 17-year-old who allegedly masterminded the plan.

Four days after 33 juveniles vandalised an observation home in Mukherjee Nagar,police have arrested the 17-year-old who allegedly masterminded the plan.

Fifteen other juveniles from the correction home,Seva Kutir,were apprehended on the day of the incident,while they hid inside buses at a nearby depot.

Police said the 17-year-old has 10 cases registered against him,including that of murder,attempt to murder,robbery,snatching and for opening fire at a police personnel.

Police said the boy,along with four others,had been brought to Seva Kutir from the observation home in Majnu Ka Tila,after they had created a ruckus there and tried to escape twice.

On October 5,the five planned another escape and mobilised 28 other children to join them,police said.

The 15 juveniles who were apprehended soon after the escape told police that the 17-year-old had threatened to kill them if they refused to escape with him.

Sources said the 17-year-old first went to his friend’s house in Narela.

After spending a night there,he went to Trilokpuri where he slept in the park.

On Thursday morning,he went to Sarai Kale Khan bus stop,where he tried to pick pockets.

A police team,after receiving a tip off,apprehended him from there.

Man on most wanted list held in Gurgaon

Gurgaon: One of the most wanted men in Delhi-NCR,Vikram Kadiyan aka Vicky who has been involved in 200 cases of robbery,was arrested by the Gurgaon police on Thursday. According to police,Kadiyan (28) was arrested by Delhi Police in April 2011 in a robbery case and then released on bail in May the same year. Since then,police said,he has committed robberies in Noida,Gurgaon,Delhi,Rohtak,Karnal,Faridabad and Kurukshetra. “He would get into people’s homes on the pretext of distributing wedding cards and rob them. He would steal gold,jewellery and cars,” Gurgaon police said. ENS
