Rs 1.8-cr burglary at doc’s house cracked

The Koramangala police claimed Thursday to have cracked the Rs 1.8-crore burglary at the house of a doctor on September 17,with the arrest of his car driver,security guard and their alleged accomplice.

The Koramangala police claimed Thursday to have cracked the Rs 1.8-crore burglary at the house of a doctor on September 17,with the arrest of his car driver,security guard and their alleged accomplice.

A portion of stolen property had been recovered,they said.

Driver Praveen and guard Kishore had disappeared after the burglary. They were traced to their hometowns and arrested with friend Esu.

The police said Dr Subba Ram,who runs clinics and a dental college in the city,was away in Tamil Nadu with family when the burglary took place. It came to light on September 18 night when they returned.

The family found window grills in a bedroom cut and Rs 55 lakh,diamond jewellery worth Rs 60 lakh and gold jewellery and silver articles worth Rs 75 lakh missing.

“We are investigating to recover the entire stolen property,” a police officer said.
